The Story
Martin John 'Lefty Martin' Shrode discovered his musical passion early, inspired by his mother's love of classic country and her Patsy Cline-like voice. Coming home from school to sounds of classic country, B.B. King, and even surf rock, Martin was destined for a musical journey.
His musical career began in 2008 with ensemble groups like Rhapsody Singers & Sounds Divine, where he performed as a tenor for about 10 years. In 2014, he transitioned to country music, becoming lead singer for the local cover band Silver Spurs. By 2017, he had joined the Ghostriders, expanding his country music credentials and performance experience.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Martin took on a lead singer role in a startup band before finally forming his own project, Lefty Martin & His Right-Hand Band. The group has quickly become a prominent local act, now performing over 86 events annually and specializing in country music that spans from Top 40 to Classic Country, covering hits from the 70s through the present day.
With a band of experienced musicians and a passion for bringing high-energy performances, Lefty Martin has established himself as a dynamic force in the Southern California country music scene. His band is known for their ability to get audiences dancing, drawing inspiration from legends like Merle Haggard and Hank Williams Sr., while creating their own unique musical identity.
